BUTLER Housekeeping Quotes: Staff Hours and Total Cost

A housekeeping visit has two different measures: how long the team is in your home, and how many staff hours the work involves. Before booking BUTLER Housekeeping, read the rate’s unit and the final quotation together. The headline hourly figure alone is not the total price of the visit.

BUTLER Magazine is part of the BUTLER group. This guide explains the company’s published pricing wording and the questions to confirm for your own booking; it does not promise a particular price, staffing level or cleaning result.

Read the rate per staff member

The current BUTLER rates page lists regular housekeeping from S$27 per hour, per staff member. It describes this as a starting rate, with final price, duration, staffing, GST and applicable charges confirmed in the quotation. One-time and specialist services are priced by quotation.

Keep all three parts of that wording together: “from”, “per hour” and “per staff member”. Do not assume the starting rate is the price of every booking, or that a quoted hour covers any number of people.

Separate visit duration from staff hours

Illustrative arithmetic: if two housekeepers each work for three hours, the visit involves six staff hours. Three hours describes the time each person works; six describes their combined hours. This example does not state the staffing or duration BUTLER will offer for your home.

Ask the quote to identify the number of people, their booked hours and the labour total. If team members attend for different lengths of time, ask for those hours separately. For a fixed-price job, confirm what the fixed total includes instead of imposing an hourly calculation on it.

More people and a shorter visit do not automatically mean the same service at the same price. Compare the confirmed work, staffing and total together. The provider needs your home’s details before confirming the arrangement.

Confirm the complete total before accepting

The regular-housekeeping page says the quotation confirms service time, staffing or labour, materials or equipment and applicable GST or extra charges. It also identifies additional requests such as ironing and appliance interiors, with extra time and charges agreed through the quote.

Write down one amount for the agreed visit and ask what remains outside it. If you add a task, request confirmation of any change to time, staffing or price before assuming it fits the original total.

For recurring care, ask how many visits the quoted billing period covers, what is payable before the start and what happens to the balance if a visit changes. Confirm the current billing, cancellation and rescheduling terms with the service contact. Do not convert a weekly figure into a monthly bill by assuming every month contains exactly four visits.

Check that the quote refers to your current task list. A quotation prepared before you added laundry, changed the home condition or requested a different service may need updating.

Keep a short quote check

Keep the accepted quotation and later agreed changes together. A useful question is: “Please confirm the total for the agreed work, the staffing and hours, and any amount that is still outside this quote.” That gives you a concrete booking record without relying on a general claim of affordability.

For the separate question of which jobs belong in each visit, read our housekeeping and deep-cleaning scope guide. The point here is the price unit: check the total commitment, rather than multiplying a starting rate by a visit length alone.
